いかに自分が主役になって学習できているか？というのが学習においては非常に大事になってきます。これは脳の働きにも大きく関係していることで、小学生や中学生に限らず大人にとってもいえることです。では、“主役になって学習する！”とはどういう状態のことをいうのでしょうか？それは、“自分のことを俯瞰しながら学習する！”ということになります。これはメタ認知力とも言えますが、学習中にいかに自分自身を傍から見れるかというのがポイントとなります。言葉で言うと難しく聞こえますが、出来る生徒というのは、自分を傍から見て、「そこがポイントだ！」とか「ここは改めて復習しておかないと！」とか、「ここはテストに出るぞ！」といった形で、自分に檄を飛ばしたり、やる気を高めたりといったオペレーションを行っているのです。このオペレーション機能が働いている生徒というのは、先生が中心となるのではなく、自分が主役となって学習を行っているので、IQ能力も高まり、ひいては成績がぐんぐん伸びていく、ということなのです。
